Do you ever struggle to acknowledge your wins?
It’s something that gets me in a tangle every now and again.
I know it’s a problem…
If you don’t celebrate your successes, you’ll never feel good enough. You’ll struggle to cultivate the positivity that helps you show up as your best – in all areas of your life.
I know I’m hard on myself. It’s why looking back BEFORE I move forward is such a valuable practice for me. It might work for you too.
When you’ve had your head down, it’s easy to miss the compound effect in action.
You don’t notice how that collection of subtle changes evolved into something big. Because it all happened so gradually, you forget what it was like before.
It’s why reflection becomes your superpower…
When you look back and write down everything you did, you’ll suddenly see everything you achieved.
It’s a simple process that makes the past so powerful because it gives you perspective.
When you have a clear before and after you can SEE HOW FAR YOU’VE COME.
But that’s not all…
Your past is also the root of all your lessons.
Your past holds the experiences and the stories that enabled you to grow into the person you are today.
IT’S WHY YOUR PAST HOLDS THE KEY TO THE MESSAGE YOU WERE BORN TO SHARE.
When you get introspective, look for the patterns, and join up the dots, you’ll see how life has brought you to this point perfectly.
You’ll see that everything you’ve lived through and everything you’ve learned has made you perfectly positioned to share the message that makes you feel alive.
Sure, the past should NOT define your future.
But it can (and should) shape your message.
There’s richness beyond you can imagine hidden in your memories.
If you have the patience and the courage to start looking, I guarantee you’ll uncover some wizardry that will make YOUR message shine 😊
HOW TO WRITE CONTENT THAT CONNECTS AND CONVERTS
There are many things I love about creating content, but these are my two favourites:
Firstly, content is a chance to express yourself. It’s a chance to make an impact on the lives of others simply by sharing who you are and what you know.
Secondly, content is a way to sell without really selling at all!
No need to be manipulative or icky, instead you can nudge people closer to your products and services simply by adding value.
It’s how thought leadership boosts your profits and your impact.
But how can you create content that delivers these results?
Four things…
1. Be RELEVANT
First up, your content has to be relevant.
This comes in two parts. Firstly, it’s about knowing what you want to say and what you want to be known for. It’s about positioning your thought leadership – so everything you say ties together.
Secondly, it’s about meeting your target audience where they’re at. Get inside the head and under the skin of the people you can best serve and write your content for them. Address their fears and talk to their desires. Make them feel seen, and they will listen all the more intently to what you have to say.
2. Be AUTHENTIC
It’s the Age of the Individual Message. If you want to cut through the noise and attract the right eyes, ears, and hearts, you need to infuse your personality into your content.
So write as you speak and show up in the way you would if someone were to meet you face-to-face. No need to fake it or try to be someone you’re not. Just be yourself.
Let down your guard and reveal the real you. Share your stories and anecdotes and use your YOU to build a meaningful connection with the people who feel most drawn to your message.
3. Be CONSISTENT
Content is a long-term strategy. Remember, you’re ‘selling’ by adding value to your audience. You’re moving people closer to your offers by answering their questions, sharing your expertise, and helping them make informed decisions.
To do this well, you want to be part of the ongoing conversation – and that means you gotta show up.
Commit to a regular cycle of content, and the accountability won’t only get your message out there, but it will spark your creativity too. The more inspired you feel, the more you’ll have to say.
4. Be SELF EXPRESSED
The message you were born to share is a unique expression of your personality, your philosophy, and your stories.
To maximise those assets, you need to own all of that ^
You can’t play small with your big idea. That only leads to frustration for you and a lesser experience for your audience.
Instead, love yourself through the fear of being seen and judged and do it anyway 😊 Take risks, allow yourself to feel vulnerable, and speak from your heart. Fearless visibility is beautiful. When people don’t hold anything back, it touches us all.
