I was sitting on the veranda of our rented log cabin in Spain when the insight hit me. Engrossed in The Master Key System by Charles F. Hannel, I stumbled upon a quote about deep-dive questions that I’ve not stopped thinking about since. 

That quote was this…

“Questions are spiritual searchlights.” 

I love the idea that questions shine the light of awareness onto the things we need to surface and shape. Deep-dive questions guide us to our Individual Wisdom and Divine Guidance. They’re the key to reclaiming our sovereignty… so we can distinguish between what’s truly ours, and what’s been absorbed from external influences. 

Deep-dive questions are a gateway that cut through the surface layer veil; transporting you to the deeper wisdom within. A potent question will connect you with source. It will crack you open and guide you to explore the shadowy places that have been overlooked and ignored – maybe for lifetimes. 

Best of all, once you ask a question you feel compelled to answer it!

The power of instinctive elaboration

Questions trigger a mental reflex called instinctive elaboration. In effect, questions hijack your brain to the point where you can’t think about anything else! 

And if you’re thinking about the question, chances are you’ll also find an answer. [Have you ever said something in response to a question that you didn’t realise you knew?]

Netflix can help us understand what might be happening here…

When was the last time you lost yourself in a Netflix binge when you didn’t mean to? [Guilty!] You were only going to watch one, maybe two episodes, but suddenly it’s 3 am and you can’t peel yourself away from the screen because you HAVE to know what happens next! 

Enter the power of the cliffhanger and open loops. 

We CRAVE closure and open loops create an itch that needs to be scratched. 

Questions create a similar opening causing your brain will scurry off to find answers so it can create closure. We’re hard-wired to think of answers. It’s why great questions can kick-start something powerful for your life. 

Ask deep-dive questions, evolve your life.

In the words of Tony Robbins, “Quality questions create a quality life. Successful people ask better questions, and as a result, they get better answers.”  

Questions disrupt the status quo by forcing you to challenge yourself. 

• Where are you settling? 
• What have you written off? 
• What is the default thinking that keeps you circling where you are – rather than flying off to new horizons? 

The right questions call us out of our default ways of being. They inspire deeper journaling, more meaningful conversations, and dreams that are aligned with the SOULPrint version of who we are. 

For all these reasons [and more] questions form a fundamental pillar of my message-making work. 

And when I think about the times we’re in, this focus isn’t all that surprising. 

Know Your Truth

These times call for a deeper dive into ourselves. This is the time of individuality – the Age of the Individual Messenger. 

A time for us to reconnect with and rediscover the wise, connected, inspired being that’s inside. This part of us has ALWAYS been there, it’s just we forgot. For too long, we’ve been told to seek the answers outside of ourselves. 

That need for external validation. 

Trusting those with more life experience above our intuition. 

Following the curriculum for living that was laid down during different times from these. 

We need to start questioning more –  because so much of what we’ve been told is functional and effective, evidently isn’t. Just look around you, the evidence is everywhere. 

So many structures are broken and damaged. 

But maybe we were born for these times. 

I believe it’s time to transform the prevailing social narrative. It’s time to discover different ways of BEing and DOing. It’s time to see authenticity as more than a marketing buzzword and create the space to discover who we are – and why we’re here. 

So much more life becomes possible when we learn to tap a little deeper into our being and learn to hear OUR beautiful, unique, inspired voice. 

It’s why I created Know Your Truth.
